PHP in Dallas, TX

Day treatment in the Dallas-Fort Worth area – when you need more structure than outpatient care.

PHP can be the right next step when weekly therapy isn’t providing enough structure, but you don’t need 24/7 residential care. A partial hospitalization program provides full-day treatment and clinical support while you live off-site, so you can stabilize and build skills that hold up in real life.

At All Points North, Dallas-Fort Worth, we help you start at the level of care that fits your immediate needs, and we’ll stay connected as you step down through PHP and IOP when appropriate.

How PHP Works at APN Dallas-Fort Worth

PHP is often the most intensive outpatient level of care. At APN, PHP runs as full-day programming; PHP clients typically attend sessions from 9 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday.

Clients typically enroll in APN’s Dallas-Fort Worth PHP for a minimum of 30 days, with treatment length shaped by assessment and progress.

The Levels of Care We Provide in Dallas-Fort Worth

You can enter care where you are. We’ll help you choose the safest and most effective starting point, and map out what comes next, so progress doesn’t drop off during transitions.

Medically Supervised Detox

Detox is the right starting point when there’s substance use or alcohol withdrawal risk, medical concern, or multiple prior attempts to discontinue use without lasting success. APN provides 24/7 medical supervision for withdrawal management and helps you plan the next steps early, so you complete detox with a clear path forward.

Residential Treatment (Inpatient Rehab)

Residential care is suitable when you need a full-time structure, separation from triggers, and consistent accountability. APN describes residential treatment as 24/7 care and support in a structured environment, with step-down planning so support doesn’t drop off after discharge.

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

PHP provides a full day of structured clinical programming while you live outside of 24/7 residential care. A partial hospitalization program often serves as a step-down from residential care or a step-up when outpatient care lacks sufficient structure.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

IOP fits when you need consistent structure while staying connected to work, family, and daily responsibilities. At APN Dallas-Fort Worth, IOP includes three 3-hour group meetings per week, with weekly individual sessions. Clients typically stay engaged for an average of 8 weeks and can join anytime with rolling admission (exact fit depends on clinical needs).

Continuity After PHP

PHP works best as part of a connected plan, not a standalone phase. The goal is to stabilize, build skills, and leave with clear next steps, often stepping down into IOP and ongoing outpatient support based on clinical needs.

Trust APN for Industry-Leading Outcomes

All Points North has ranked in the top 5% of behavioral health providers nationwide for client improvement outcomes since 2020. These results don’t happen by chance – they’re the result of a deliberate, outcomes-driven approach to care.

At APN DFW, we ensure client positive outcomes by:

  • Actively engaging our clinicians:Our clinical team regularly reviews outcomes data and uses it to continually strengthen care.
  • Creating personalized, evidence-based treatment plans:We take the time to understand your history and goals, then build a care plan tailored specifically to you.
  • Delivering fully integrated care across the APN Continuum:From detox and medically assisted withdrawal through PHP and IOP, care stays connected as you move through APN Pathways, all within one coordinated system.

With APN DFW, you can take the next step forward with confidence, supported by evidence-based care and industry-leading outcomes at every stage of your recovery.

When Is PHP the Right Fit?

PHP can be a strong fit when you’re early in recovery and need daily structure without inpatient care. It can also make sense when you’re stepping down after detox or residential treatment, or if you need more support than outpatient programming.

PHP may be recommended when dual diagnosis symptoms need more support than weekly therapy – the added clinical accountability can help improve relapse risk.

If medical withdrawal risk is present, detox may be needed first. If you need a 24/7 structure for safety, residential treatment may be the better starting point. Either way, we’ll listen to your story and explain our recommendation clearly, along with why it will meet your immediate needs.

When to Choose IOP Instead

IOP is often the better fit when you’ve reached a steadier baseline and don’t need the intensity of day program, but still want consistent clinical support. Intensive outpatient programs are designed for people who are ready for fewer weekly treatment hours while continuing to apply recovery skills in real life, at home, at work, and in relationships.

An IOP level of care is especially helpful when you need structured support that can accommodate work and family demands, especially as the focus shifts from stabilization to long-term maintenance and relapse prevention.

The fastest way to know whether PHP or IOP fits best right now is a clinical assessment that looks at safety, stability, symptoms, treatment history, relapse risk, and the support available outside of treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is PHP suitable for individuals with dual diagnoses?
Yes. At APN Dallas-Fort Worth, PHP is offered specifically for clients seeking treatment for substance use disorders and co-occurring conditions. We take a dual-diagnosis approach to treatment, meaning care can address substance use and co-occurring mental health concerns together when clinically appropriate.

At APN DFW, we track progress through regular check-ins and assessments, so your treatment plan can proactively adapt as you stabilize and build skills.

Your team uses what they’re seeing in sessions, your symptom stability, and real-world functioning to guide next steps, including therapy focus, medication management when indicated, and step-down planning.

APN will tell you exactly what you need for your start date. The easiest move is to bring the basics that help intake go smoothly (like your ID, insurance info if using it, and any prescribed medications in their original containers), plus anything you’ll use during the day to stay engaged (notebook, water, etc.).

If you’re unsure, call admissions – our team is happy to answer questions and walk you through the next steps.

Relapse happens, and if it happens to you, it’s okay. If relapse happens during PHP, our team will reassess what’s driving it and adjust the plan without shaming you. We’re treatment professionals, and we know how to help you move forward.

Because APN Dallas–Fort Worth offers multiple levels of care (detox/withdrawal management, residential, PHP, IOP), our team can recommend stepping up support if safety or stability requires it, then keep your care connected as you move forward.

Call our Admissions team for a private, no-pressure conversation about what’s happening and the safest next step. We’ll address any concerns and ensure confidentiality, so you can move forward with confidence.
